A fictional book
Chocolat by Joanne Harris
I actually saw the movie first, staring Johnny Depp and Juliet Binoche, and then read the book about six years later and absolutely fell in love with it.
I really like it when the chapters are different characters, and while it was a bit confusing at first because just the voice and font changed (symbolizing a different character) once you got the hang of it, it flowed beautifully.
It is a wonderful story about Vianne Rocher young daughter Anouk, who move to the small village of Lansquenet-sous-Tannes and open a chocolate shop (which was quite unheard of in this uptight religious town in the middle of Lent).
Vianne is able to help many people and upset a few others with her unconventional ways and amazing chocolate creations.
This is by far one of the best books (and movies) I have ever read, and I plan on reading the sequel The Girl with No Shadow as soon as I have time.
