Blast from the Past

I recently came across an editorial involving  Kirsten Dunst in V Magazine.  The second my eyes landed on the first image I immediately feel in love with it.  It looked so, old.  So vintage and antique.  Like I was looking through a torn faded magazine from the 1930’s.  A Depression era piece trying to remind people of “The Good Life”.

Kirsten Dunst doesn’t even look like herself.  She looks like a silver screen siren with a European name and demeanor.  She eminates Marlene Dietrich so well it is scary.  I am so impressed with both the photography and hair and make up, even the lighting which casts the much needed shadows on her eyes to make it appear like this was taken in the first half of the 20th century.  The evocation of true Hollywood glamor here is pretty remarkable.

If you don’t believe me here are some famous actresses of old Hollywood:

Marlene Dietrich

Marlene Dietrich

Marlene Dietrich

Greta Garbo, who looks just like Ms. Dunst here.

  1. Quite true, fashion trends from the past play a big influence in todays fashion trends. In fact you might notice what was in before will become in today.

  2. These are incredible images. I love them! Do you know who the photographer is?

  3. This shoot is amazing, and I can’t believe how good Kirsten looks. Bring back the Dunst! x
