And with the Golden Globes behind us, Award Show Season is officially underway. I have always liked the Golden Globes because it mixes both television and movies which in my opinion makes for a less serious, fun environment. The Academy Awards are of course my favorite, but it often seems a bit tense and everyone takes themselves quite seriously. The Golden Globes are supposed to be a bit less dressy, and often more playful, but not to the extent of the Grammys.
Sunday night I was happily surprised by the clothes on the red carpet. There was experimentation and some very sleek and sophisticated gowns. There were only a handful of dresses that I really disliked, and a few lackluster ones, but other than that the show made me very excited to see what is planned for the Oscars!
My Absolute Favorites:
Michelle Williams in Valentino, channeling Twiggy.
Natalie Portman in Viktor & Rolf
Emma Stone in Calvin Klein
Julianne Moore in Lanvin
Hailee Steinfeld in Prabal Gurung
Claire Danes in Calvin Klein
January Jones in Versace
Scarlett Johanson in Elie Saab
Nicole Kidman in Prada
Leighton Meester in Burberry
Julianna Marguiles in Vintage YSL
Jayma Mayes in Alberta Ferretti
Helena Bonham Carter in Vivienne Westwood
Anne Hathaway in Armani
Angelina Jolie in Versace
And the Bad:
Jennifer Love Hewitt in Romona Keveza
Julia Stiles in Romona Keveza
Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad
Christina Aguilera in Zuhair Murad
Milla Jovovich in Armani
This summer I was lucky enough to get an internship with a fashion website called StyleSalt.com. Here you can find thousands of clothes all neatly sorted to your liking. The website breaks it down by color, designer, and even which celebrity inspired it.
That’s where I come in. I sort the clothing. Something I happen to be very good at. I also get to look at a pictures of celebrities (my two are Jennifer Aniston and Katie Holmes) and find clothing similar to what they are wearing, but at a better price of course.
So say you wanted to dress like Ashley Olsen or Angelina Jolie, you can just pop on over to the website click on their name and up comes hundreds of outfits to chose from.
What is also great about the website, and the internship for that matter, is that there are fashion blogs on it as well. And I get to write some of them. With a byline and everything.
Yesterday my first blog was posted on StyleSalt, and I just want it to be known that I am not cheating on my WordPress I am simply expanding my blogging horizons.
So here is the link to my first published blog: http://www.stylesalt.com/blog/219/cream-of-the-crop-tops
