Vera Wang has really outdone herself. But that is what is expected when you are dressing a former President’s daughter. The soft cascading on the skirt of the dress was not an announcement of glamor, rather a proclamation of it. The jeweled belt which sat just above the hips was beautiful and well crafted, it did not look like a bejeweled nightmare, which often happens. Chelsea Clinton looked stunning in the Vera Wang creation, stunning and soft but still grown up. She looked like a bride, comfortable in both the dress and who she has become as a person, and absolutely in love with her husband.

Coco Rocha married James Conran in France on June 9. And I happened to come across the only picture of their wedding so far.
I am actually quite impressed with them, it is seven days later and there is only one picture of the dress on the internet. I think Ms. Lindsay Lohan needs to learn from this charming model, wife.
We all know that Zac Posen was designing the wedding dress for her and he really does wonders to her body with his clothes. Remember it is a bit difficult to make a 21 year old look “womanly” when she is 5’10” and stick thin, not so many curves to work with. But I think he pulls it off nicely.
To the right is the invitation, which unfortunately I do not have in my possession, rather Rocha posted a picture of it on Twitter. It is perfectly elegant and fitting for a wedding in a French castle, the same one where Conran proposed to her. It was attended by only 50 of their closest family and friends, including Victoria’s Secret model, Behati Prinsloo.
When more photos come in, I will of course post them, but until then here is the picture of Coco on her wedding day.
Whatever tickles your fancy
What tickles my fancy right now is Lara Stone’s wedding this past week.
Riccardo Tisci, head designer of Givenchy, designed two incredible couture dresses for Ms. Stone’s spring wedding to David Wailliams. I wrote about this before in an earlier post about which model I am more envious of, her or Coco Rocha (Zac Posen is designing her dress).
While I like Coco better as a model, I am honestly not sure if Zac Posen can top Tisci’s two dresses. The wedding dress itself was gorgeous, much different than I expected, but in a good way. Tisci has a slight tendency to go a bit gothic, but this dress was anything but. It was a cream lace, edged with a gold braid which fit her body perfectly. The only picture of the dress so far is this one below, it shows the detail nicely but it doesn’t have the full dress in it unfortunately.
The second dress he designed for her was for the after party. It a a gold, sequined short busty dress that is perfect for a glamorous, fun evening.
The couple drove away in an adorable, British chic Rolls Royce. The perfect getaway car.
Yes, we get it. We really do. You are models. No, Super Models. You are also beautiful, thin, talented, tall, famous and rich. And now you both are getting married. I am okay with all that. What really puts me over the edge though is the fact that you have, arguably, two of the world’s greatest designers creating the dress of your dreams.
The fashion world is buzzing about the upcoming weddings, Lara Stone and Coco Rocha’s to be exact. And to add to their wedding bliss, two designers have stepped up to the plate to design their dream dresses.
Riccardo Tisci, of Givenchy, is currently designing Dutch supermodel Stone’s dress to British comedian, David Walliams, while Zac Posen is designing Rocha’s to interior designer James Conran. I can’t decide which of the girls is luckier. Tisci’s ball gowns are extraordinary (see Zoe Saldana at the Oscars) but Posen is known for showing off women’s bodies like no other.
