Pixie Perfect

Though I usually prefer models on the cover of magazines, Emma Watson gracing December’s issue of British Vogue is completely fine with me and I kind of love it.

She looks like a modern Twiggy with her cropped hair and big doe eyes.  I won’t even mind paying $10 for this issue of the magazine, Emma Watson takes beautiful pictures and I have a feeling her editorial in the magazine will go above and beyond.

I feel like she, and Carey Mulligan on the cover of American Vogue, are still pressuring me into cutting my hair like theirs, but I don’t know if I could pull it off as amazingly as they do.

And here is Carey Mulligan’s cover story for October’s Vogue styled by Grace Coddington:

Do I Do the Do?

I am obsessed:

Emma Watson looks beyond stunning, and so grown up!  No one is going to call her Hermonie Granger anymore with those doe eyes and amazing hair cut.

I also love Mia Wasikowska’s, she looks so edgy and chic.  It completely changes her innocent demeanor.

And then, of course, there is Carey Mulligan’s haircut.  The one that started it all.

Saving Grace

Last week I decided to let my hair down.  I have been getting headaches (as was expected) from my super tight ballerina buns and I wanted to show off my new color as well.

My boyfriend and I decided to go to Providence for the day and take a mini shopping trip.  I assumed I would be in air conditioning the entire time and just put a little Bumble and Bumble in my hair and went on my way.

This was not the case.  We thought it would be fun to walk around near Brown and visit the Urban Outfitters and vintage stores in the area, and yes hopefully see the elusive Emma Watson.   It is was so humid out I wanted to cry.  My hair which looked perfectly lovely in the car turned into a poof.  A huge red poof.

By the time we got to the mall it was bad, just bad.  I will not complain about the weather or the temperature or if my feet hurt, but I will complain about my hair.

So as I am whining away about how I will have to walk around all day with silly poofy hair and I won’t like anything I try on because of it my boyfriend says something I never could have expected.

“At least now you will look like Grace Coddington!”

I’m not sure if I should be proud that he knows who she is, and sadly used her name in the correct way.  Or if I should be insulted…

Either way, I love Grace Coddington, and I really should be honored to spoken in the same sentence with her.

Bad Romance

I’ll be honest.  I don’t get it.

I’m not going to try to come up with some excuse for the two of them or try to fathom why they like each other’s work so much, because I really just don’t understand.

(I would, however, love to sit in on a meeting between the two of them, I’m sure it is absolutely hilarious.)

Of course, I am talking about Giorgio Armani and Lady Gaga’s recent love affair.  Which I have cleverly deemed a “Bad Romance”.

When I think of Armani I think, Italian, gray, luxurious fabrics, classic, eternal, stylish.  None of these, in my opinion, relate to the entertaining Lady Gaga experience that I suppose has grown out of being a fad.

She does entertainment art, is brash and loud, ever changing, bright and colorful, and very shocking.  But apparently Giorgio is infatuated with her, maybe it is his old age (he is 75) or he is trying to appeal to a younger audience, but whatever it is I find it strange.

I love partnerships (see Givenchy and Audrey Hepburn, Karl Lagerfeld and Emma Watson) but I am not enchanted by this one, rather confused.

Below are some of the ensembles he custom designed for her.  When will this romance end?

Red Carpet Dress for the Grammy's 2010.

Grammy Performance Ensemble

Grammy Audience Outfit

Bodysuit for the MET Ball

Black Lace Ensemble for the Controversial American Idol Performance

Armani's Sketch for the American Idol Performance

Armani's Sketches for Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Concert Tour

Viva Emma!

So, while I was scouring the internet for fashion I came across Emma Watson’s pictures from Italian Vogue, and needless to say, I am in love.  With the pictures that is, though I’m sure she is a lovely girl.  She looks so radiant and I’ve never seen her look more beautiful.  It seems like everyone in the industry, especially Karl Lagerfeld, is in love with Harry Potter’s leading lady, and now I can see why!  The clothes and the styling and the saturated photographs are stunning.  I really love the one where she is sitting in the wheelbarrow being pushed by a farmer.  The smile on her face looks perfectly genuine and the cloche is to die for.
