My favorite Marc Jacobs umbrella broke today during my mile walk to school this morning. Great start to the week if you ask me.
A moment of silence for her. She was so young and had such a promising life ahead of her. Thankfully my purse was Louis Vuitton (virtually waterproof) and I had on a long black wool riding coat to shield me from the rain (hail? freezing ice?) that came pelting down on me for close to 20 minutes.
However this adventure did make me remember this Tommy Ton photograph of the Vogue Nippon team trying to escape the rain during fashion week. I only wish I looked as elegant as they do, in their single file line and fur jackets.

Coco Rocha in Japanese Vogue
As today is my birthday I felt the extreme need for a birthday post, complete with balloons, cake Marie Antoinette, Coco Rocha and, of course, Vogue.
Today I am off to the beach for the first time this summer. Yes, I do realize I am a bit behind, but I’ve been busy! Try not to think too poorly of me.
Watch Hill, RI
But back to the beach. I have decided upon Watch Hill, RI, a super WASP-y wealthy little town with great beaches and shopping.
The beach also happens to be an excellent location for photo shoots. Many amazing photographs and clothes have graced the gorgeous beaches of the world, and below are some of my favorites. If they don’t inspire you to don your newest bathing suit and 30 spf then I don’t know what will.
